Bennelongia would like to congratulate the University of Adelaide, Curtin University and Flinders University on recently being awarded an Australian Research Council grant to study the food webs of stygofauna and the energy sources they use, as well as the potential use of environmental DNA for stygofauna monitoring. The project, “Subterranean invertebrate communities of arid zone Western Australia: diversity, assessment and food-web structure”, will be led by Professor Andrew Austin of the University of Adelaide’s Australian Centre for Evolutionary Biology & Biodiversity, Environment Institute.

Bennelongia will be a contributing partner to this project, together with the Western Australian Museum, South Australian Museum, Biota Environmental Sciences and the Department of Parks and Wildlife.
